Mi Familia

Mi Familia traces the lives of three generations of the Sanchez family from Mexican immigrants to their lives here in the US. I really enjoyed this movie. The story, while not anything special, did demonstrate hispanic culture and ideals very well.

Personally, I think it is still taboo to do movies about hispanics and immigration because people are so angry. We need to remember that not all immigrants come intending harm. Most are hard working and honest. Too bad a few spoil it for everyone.

My husband and I, both of hispanic decent (Mexican and Venezuelan), agreed that we actually wouldn't mind owning this one. It expresses alot of the values of family and commitment that we cherish and want to pass on to our children.
