Drowning Mona

Ok, this was a terrible movie. Hated it. Just ugh. Don't see it.

Grumpy Old Men

I had wanted to see this movie for years. When it first came out I was too young to see it (that should give you an idea about my age). Walter Mattheu (sp?) and Jack Lemmon were spectacular and the story was very sweet and funny at the same time. I seem to be on a roll of movies I want to own! Oh, well lol.

The Blind Side (2009)

I usually am the first in line to see a Sandra Bullock movie. She is one of my favorite actresses. This one I drug my feet over and now I wish I hadn't waited so long to see it.

I loved this movie! The values in it were awesome and the story touches your heart. Knowing that it was based on a true story made it even more powerful. Our family will be adding this one to our collection.

Sandra did a great job -- although I don't think she did an oscar worthy job -- she excels at playing powerful (sometimes bossy) women.

Mi Familia

Mi Familia traces the lives of three generations of the Sanchez family from Mexican immigrants to their lives here in the US. I really enjoyed this movie. The story, while not anything special, did demonstrate hispanic culture and ideals very well.

Personally, I think it is still taboo to do movies about hispanics and immigration because people are so angry. We need to remember that not all immigrants come intending harm. Most are hard working and honest. Too bad a few spoil it for everyone.

My husband and I, both of hispanic decent (Mexican and Venezuelan), agreed that we actually wouldn't mind owning this one. It expresses alot of the values of family and commitment that we cherish and want to pass on to our children.
